Now, as promised, we are proud to introduce you to the new official travel agent of Single Parents Who Travel, Michael Greene! He’s got you for Egypt (there are still some slots available), the cruise above – basically, any of your traveling needs!

Michael is the father of 5 beautiful children and is a former, long-time single, custodial parent, now happily married to Tomika Anderson, the founder of Single Parents Who Travel.

He graduated from the United States Naval Academy where he became a commissioned Marine officer, and then started a successful telecommunications engineering career with Verizon upon completion of his military service.  After 2 decades in corporate America, he became an entrepreneur. He has been the owner of award-winning luxury ground transportation business Platinum Plus Limousines for more than 20 years. Now, as a licensed travel agent who specializes in booking properties from Italy to Turks and Caicos, Mike not only enjoys traveling with his family, he takes great pride in putting together dream vacations for other peoples’ families, to include Single Parents Who Travel’s annual family vacations.

We sat down with Mike to learn a little more about him and get his expert insights on single parent travel for 2024.

What are some of the most common travel concerns you see among single parents traveling with their kids, and how does SPWT help them overcome those issues?

“A lack of time to plan/get organized. Not really knowing where or how to start in planning safe, fun adventures throughout the world. Having to work within a fixed budget as a single parent, often with multiple kids. Also, concerns over getting permission and formal documentation from the other parent – if there is one – for their child or children to travel abroad. We have a lot of experience helping single parents work through all of that – whether it’s our year long payment plan, to us planning just about everything, to include excursions and transfers for when your family arrives and departs a country, to providing tips on securing passports and other travel documentation without the assistance of the other parent. As longtime single parents ourselves, many of these are issues we have had to go through, too!”

Where do you recommend single parents to go this year?

“Among other trips, I recommend a cruise! There are some great deals right now that are super affordable for single parent families, and can be booked years out. Whether this is your first time cruising or not, I highly recommend The Icon Of The Seas by Royal Caribbean which is a brand new cruise offering unique onboard activities such as the largest waterpark on any cruise deck, along with some of the tallest water slides. There’s also an adults-only pool, swim-up bar, nightlife, delightful dining experience and a lot more. As mentioned, we’ve secured the least expensive options available for families onboard this amazing cruise for members of Single Parents Who Travel — the prices will only go up, and there are only a few slots left for spring break and summer — so  I highly recommend you place a deposit to hold your slot. Again, you can find out more details of this trip here.”

Beaches Resort in Ocgo Rios, Jamaica Single Parents Who Travel Family Vacation Solo Travel With Kids, Toddler, and Teens

For those just starting out traveling with their kids, which destination do you recommend single parents take their very first trip?

“I recommend Beaches Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, especially if you need a break from the cold! This all-inclusive resort has everything you need to make sure you and your kid/s get to relax and enjoy good weather, great service, and fun-for-all activities. There are a lot of activities in the resort suitable for children of all ages so you’ll never have to worry if your tweens or teens will keep engaged in your vacation. The resort has twenty-two acres of lush tropical gardens, a gorgeous private white-sand beach, seven gourmet restaurants, five fantastic swimming pools, a dedicated scuba practice pool, an entire ocean of watersports, and a lot more. This resort was actually listed among The 19 Best Beach Resorts For Families by Parents Magazine in 2023.”

What family-friendly activities or excursions do you recommend at this destination?

“Every water sport imaginable is included along with top-of-the-line equipment and professional instruction at Beaches Ocho Rios. As mentioned, the Beaches Ocho Rios has a full range of water sports like kayaking, aqua trikes, snorkeling, paddle boards, hobie cats, windsurfing, and more! Given the fact that I am a lifelong swimmer this is music to my ears! They also feature the Pirates Island Waterpark designed in a theme-park style, giving kids the additional adrenaline pump they crave without straying too far from the Caribbean relaxation their parents desire. Also, the resort’s Kids Camp will give parents a break to enjoy some adult time while vacationing. If you’re interested in arranging a group trip to this resort, just you, your kids, some friends and family let me know and I can make it happen!”

For trips that are more off the beaten path, can you create and/or tailor a travel itinerary based on the unique preferences and interests of a family?

“Absolutely! It’s my specialty. All of our individual family trips can be tailored to the unique preferences and interests of each family member attending. You can pick and choose what you want to do, down to excursions, before you arrive, or even after you get there. All vacation packages we offer are flexible and can be customized to your family’s needs, particularly those who may need special assistance such as a wheelchair, stroller, or nanny service. Additionally we place a high priority on ensuring the comfort of families with children with autism or other special needs.

To book a trip or for assistance with previously booked trips, you can reach Mike at or call or text him at +1 (410) 913-1065. He looks forward to meeting those of you traveling to Egypt and beyond!
